Imperial Assault - Imperial Officers and Probe Droids

I needed to paint more fodder from Imperial Assault.  I did the white ones last time, so why not to the black ones this time?  I might do the red ones next.

Cryx Battle Box painted

I'm flying through my mound of primed miniatures right now.  This time it's the Cryx battle group that I unboxed a wee while ago.

I've gone with dirty green grey armour and lots of rust.  I've also done the necrotite glow from inside the jacks blue.  I did this for two reasons.  The first is the usual green glow wouldn't stand out enough from the green armour, secondly everyone does their necrotite green and it's boring.  I still need to paint the front and rear arcs on the bases, I'm pretty sure I saw a set of widgets for marking the arcs somewhere on the interweb.

Let's look at a Bane Witch Agathea first

I've done her armour and weapons the same as the rest.  She's undead she wont care about the condition of her weapons.  I've done her skin really pale.  I've also done here ghost dress in my usual ethereal paint scheme.

Now the Slayer

Big and scary looking.  I like slayers.  They're cheap, they're menacing and they're pretty relabel.

Now the Deathripper

I love "bone chickens".  The look a bit like the things from Tremors 2.  I love they way the look, they're really cheap too, they're fast and most importantly they have arc nodes, so I can use my dirty bastard Cryx powers while hiding.

And finally the Reaper

He's going whaling.  And by whaling I mean he's going to shoot something with his harpoon, reel it in, and beat it to death with that big spike.  He's a bit more tricksy than the slayer, but hits harder.

Kharn The Betrayer

Well he did jump to the front of the painting queue.  He was quite fun to paint.  I've done him in the traditional World Eaters dark red and brass.  I've even used some blood effects on Gorechild, although my camera hasn't really captured the shine of it.  The glue on the base hasn't fully dried yet, so that's was the white bits are.

Kharn the Betrayer Unboxing

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

I've been getting the 40K bug again, and this fellow has just been released with a spiffing new plastic kit, so it stands to reason that I would pick one up.

Let's look in the box.

The instruction sheet, which also has his rules on it.

You get a nice tray to hold the sprue steady in the box.  Well played GW.

The sprue front and back.  You also get a 40mm base.  I'm not taking a picture of the base because they're boring.

Well the new Kharn is a lot bigger than the old one. I'd show you but I don't have my old metal one to hand. He's huge.  Look.

There he is next to a terminator.  If he was standing up straight he'd tower over the terminator.

Kharn is a really nice kit to put together.  He took me about 10 minutes from start to finish, with no problems what so ever.

I think he'll be jumping to the front of the painting queue.
