I picked this awesome we building up from Warbases. It was a bargain at only £8. Nice easy to build. I've added my own tiles from card. It's rock solid, and can be used in many games. I'm actually really chuffed with it, so much so I might get some more.

The Crimson Count
So I found this Gamezone Vampire in my box of forgotten projects and decided to paint him. May I present to you the Crimson Count, scourge of the dark, terror of the night, lord of the grave. I plan to use him in Age of Sigmar and in Saga; Age of Magic.

Young Green Dragon
So time for something different.
This is the Temple Dragon from Reaper Miniatures' Bones range. I've painted it up to be a young green dragon in D&D. Although since I've mounted it on a 50mm square base I could use it as a monster in Kings of War.
I've done the base with foam flock from Geek Gaming, using the Lukesaps method.

Rats with Giant Laser Guns
Now my Ratkin have laser weaponry. I'm probably going to use it as shredder. It fires multiple shots so it should do some damage every turn. Anyway I'm working through my Skaven at quite a rate, I should be at 2000 points at no time.

The Horde
I've been converting a bunch of Skaven Clanrats over to Kings of War. Most of these are repaints. I've painted water effects into the textureless parts of the base to emphasise a blasted wasteland look. A dank wasteland needs puddles damn it. I've tried to arrange them to look like they're surging forward on command. F.Y.I. Rats surge forward in a living tide, they don't charge.

Queek Headtaker
Finally a leader worthy of my Ratkin. This is the Queek Headtaker mini from old Warhemmer Fantasy. I'm using him in Kings of War as a War Cheif for my Ratkin army. For those that don't know I'm slowly converting my old Skaven army over to Kings of War, in the form of Ratkin.
Queek is my favourite Skaven mini. Back from a era when the fantasy line was still dark and gritty, you know before the new cartoon fantasy stuff they've been pumping out. This mini actually predates Finecast, yes he is metal. That does mean he's a bit front heavy and faceplants quite a bit. Queek never really performed for me in Warhammer Fantasy, he always wiffed his attacks and ran away... every sodding time. Hopefully he'l perform better in Kings of War.

Abhorrant Archregent
I've decided to take the plunge into Age of Sigmar, by converting my Vampire Counts stuff over. To start with I'm going Flesh Eater Courts and busting out my ghoul horde. I found this vampire from Heresy Miniatures to be my Abhorrant Archregent.
I've not decided on what kind of grass to put on his base yet. So I might do the whole force at the same time.

Ratkin Brutes
It's amazing what fresh lick of paint can do to some tired old models. These were all old rat ogres that I painted at different times over the last 15 years. To make them match up I repainted them. I then slapped them on a mulibase for Kings of War and now they're ready o take the field once more.
These are all from different times too. The one on the left is one of the push fit ones, the one in the middle is a metal one and the one on the right is one multipart plastic jobbies. I put the metal one in the middle for stability, it also gives him a bit of protection from getting chipped.

Ratkin Warriors
I painted up a unit of old Skaven minis and based them for my Kings of War Ratkin army.
I've put a master moulder mini armed with a big cattle prod at the back of the unit, and tried to space the rest to look like he's goading them into battle. Nothing says courage like an electric shock to the arse.
I'm not going to rely on these guys winning me a game. They're a battleline unit. I'll probably try to use their speed to get a juicy flank charge every now and again. Other than that their job is to hold the line and grab objectives. I'll probably end up teaming them up with a horde to benefit from the rallying rule.
