I've been building some terrain lately for my gaming club. Our terrain collection is mainly 40k orientated. My thoughts on this are you can't have gothic ruins in a game of bolt action, it just looks wrong. So I built some terrain that can be used in multiple genres. What is this wonder terrain? Hedges. Hedges can be found on almost any battlefield from the ancient past to the far future.
Thus far I've done 14 hedges and a gate. I have plans to do some corner pieces and another gate. The gates are a bitch to make. The fences are made from coffee stirrers and match sticks on mdf bases. The gate posts are pieces of dowel. I made the greenery from rubberised horse hair and modeling lichen. I went for this approach rather than pan scourer hedges because I wanted gaps in the vegetation, like a real hedge.
Now that this batch is done I'll be shipping them to the club for general gaming.
