These were intimidating to paint. I've always found painting white intimidating. But I mustered my courage and gave it a shot, and I don't think I did too bad. I primed the stormtroopers with a white spray. I then painted all the gaps in the armour, the backpacks and the guns with Mechanicus Standard Grey and gave the whole miniature a heavy wash of Nuln Oil. I applyied a second wash of Nuln Oil to the guns and backpacks once the first had dried. After that had dried I went and highlighted the armour with white, being careful to leave the black showing in the recesses. I then painted the bases grey because I've no idea as what to do with them.
