Dreadball Ada-Lorana

I've just finished another team, not that they took much work mind you.  The Ada-Lorana are beings that can turn themselves completely insubstantial, hence why they're made from translucent blue plastic.  For these guys I gave them a blue wash.  When that was dry I drybrushed the flames with a light blue, which I then highlighted with an off-white.  That's it they didn't take long at all.

The guards

The Jacks, the middle one is actually a striker.

The other strikers

And finally the injured dudes

Dreadball MVP's Brute Force and Brickbat Vognar

I've now got three painted teams for Dreadball, so I thought it would be a good idea to paint up a couple of MVPs.  I couldn't decide which ones to do.  However I came up with a fair impartial solution.  I grabbed my bag of MVP's, tipped them out, arranged them into a heap and grabbed the first two of the top.  I ended up with Brute Force and Brickbat Vognar.

Lets look at Brute Force first

Her exo-suit screams "power loader" to me, so I painted it like a power loader.  I feel like she has a loss of detail on her face, which is a shame as the rest of the miniature is so detailed.

Now Brickbat

He's a big pissed off convict orc.

Both of these are guards.  They'll probably see more use with my Martians or Hobgoblins, the Crystallans have enough guards as it is.  The Martians could use them more, they're a bit squishy and could do with the muscle.

Dreadball Crystallans

The crystallans are my favourite team from the last wave of stuff that came with my Dreadball Xtreme kickstarter.  Which means I have to paint them first.  I'm still not sure about the silver on them.  I might hit this with a wash later to darken them, but other than that I'm pretty happy with them.  This was also my first time painting translucent plastic, which I'm a big fan of (it looks fucking cool).

Crystallans are unusual compared to other teams because their starter team comes with 5 guards and 3 jacks.  Which basically means they wreck face.  These dudes hit hard.

The guards are pretty bulky, the jacks on the other hand... not so much

Dreadball Just Got Stinky

I've finished my second Dreadball team.  Hobgoblins.  They are currently unnamed.
You only get 9 guys in the hobgoblin team, but one of them is huge so he kinda makes up for it.

First up the strikers

The strikers are more lightly armoured than the other players in the team for extra agility.  They're also striking an 80's power rock pose.

Now the jacks

Clad in armour these guys scream "Don't hurt me!"

Oops too late

And finally the hulk

Hulk smash.

The Red Planets

Just finished my Martian Dreadball Team.
First up the blockers

The blockers are the more heavily armoured martians aesthetically at least.  They aren't actually more armoured in game.

Now the Jacks

The jacks are the real strength of the team.  The martians are decidedly average players and are fragile.  However the jacks make up for this by cheating.  Jacks carry hidden weapons.  They can knife their opponents... or shoot them mwu hahahahahahahahaha!

Now the strikers

There have skin tight body suits, no helmets and smaller air tanks, all of which I presume makes them more agile.

Now the prone guys

Remember I said the martians were fragile? Well that's what these guys are... smush.  They've been split open, had limbs severed and have been de-helmeted.  They're dead Jim.  Also the pva attaching them to the base hasn't dried hence the white blob.

All in all these were pretty fun to paint, although attaching the helmets was a bit of a pain.  Can't wait to take these guys to the pitch.
