Kings of War Slow Grow 6

I have now reached the 2000 point mark... 2 months early.  I guess this is a not so slow grow league.  I've still got some time so I'll be adding a bit more just so I can mix it up a bit.  This month I finished a unit of soul reavers and a lich.  The lich will also be finding use in D&D.

For the soul reavers I've made a double thickness base.  This is because the unit is entirely metal, and is seriously heavy.  The double base gives me more area to hold on to when I'm picking the unit up.  Is it pretty? No.  Functional? Yes.  I'm probably going to du the same with the revenants I did in the first post.

Kings of War Slow Grow 5

Not a massive update this month.  I only managed 85 points brining me to a total of 1690.  I'm not too bothered given I'm ahead of where I should be.  This month sees a unit of skeletons join my ranks.  The units is a mix of GW and Mantic plastics with 4 old metal GW skeletons from the 90's added into the mix.

Next month a regiment of Soul Reavers.

Kings of War Slow Grow 4

I've finished another unit and a hero for the Kings of War Blackjack Legacy Slow Grow League.  This month is another regiment of revenent cavalry and a revenant king on an undead horse.  This brings my my total up to 1605 points before upgrades.

Cavalry
I converted these a few years ago.  They're made from empire knights, grave guard and skeleton horsemen.  I decided these were going to be my black knights, and I think they suit the look.

King
I've had this guy for years, now he finally has a coat of paint.

The army as it currently stands
I'm at loss what to do for May.  I'll think of something.

Kings of War Slow Grow 3

I hope you're all safe and well.  This is what I managed to get painted for March.

This month I managed to do a regiment of revenant caalry, a goreblight and a necromancer.

I have to say with mantic's revenant cavalry miniatures the horses are so much better than the riders.  I find this a bit odd, but hey it is what it is.

The necromancer is one of the plastic battle wizards from GW's old Empire kit.  I've tried to keep him dark without resorting to black.
My goreblight comes from Hasslefree Miniatures (I'm not a fan of the Mantic goreblight).  Yes it is a naked chick riding an undead troll, but it looks cool, and the rule of cool wins out.

So here's the army as a whole.  Now at a mighty 1335 points.

I'm thinking of doing more revenant cavalry for April.

And here's some wholesomeness to see you through the dark.

Kings of War Slow Grow 2

First a little PSA.  This is a trying time for everyone right now.  We'll be feeling the effects of this pandemic for a while to come.  So to anyone reading this stay safe, stay strong and don't be the dick head who panic buys all the food at the supermarket (seriously if this is you, then you are a cunt).  Well that's the grim shit out the way and now on to the minis.

So here is what I finished in February.  I know it's a bit late in me getting this up, I really need to get back into the habbit of blogging.

First up I have a horde of zombies.  I've made them swarming out of the cemetery gates.  I've gone with a real mix of colours on the clothes.  I didn't want to make them uniform, realistically they'd be peasants, and from a variety of military units.

Next up is a regiment of revenants.  This unit is a significantly lighter unit than my other revenant unit (these are plastic).  I've decided they would be more regimented, hence why they are more uniform.  I wanted to show that these were elite, well elite for undead.

Next is a troop of wraiths.  Unlike the rest of the army I had to glue these to the base before I flocked them.  They wouldn't look right otherwise.  I bought the first issue of that Age of Sigmar partworks just to get these guys on the cheap, the Stormcast dudes got turned into stone golems for D&D, because I have no intention to play Age of Sigmar.

I missed these guys out of the group shot because I'm an idiot.  This is a regiment of skeleton spearmen.  I've gone for a mix of colours again.  I like to think they were risen from a mass grave from an ancient battlefield.  Besides who says undead armies don't have to be dark.

The army as it currently stands.  For March I'm doing some hammers.  I've got a regiment of revenant cavalry, a goreblight and a necromancer in the works.
