Imperial Raider Unboxing

This beast came through the door yesterday, I thought it was time for an unboxing.

This thing his huge.  Just look at the size of it compared to the tie-advanced next to it.  Let's get it out the box.

So we get an imperial raider and an alternative coloured tie-advanced (it's blue rather than grey).

Some tokens and base inserts.  I popped the big one out to assemble the raider's base.

More tokens and stuff.

The tie-advanced cards.  There's some good ones in this set.
The raider's stat cards.
The ion token card. How many of these do I own now?
The raider's damage cards.  You get a good stack of them.
Some tie-advanced upgrades.  Combine the two and they become nasty as all hell.
Some missiles.
Some new co-pilots.  Most of them are raider only.  They include Emperor Palpatine and Vanhelsing.
Some weapon upgrades for the raider.  Including more ion cannon batteries than it has weapon upgrade slots.
Some upgrades for the raider.
Some crew cards.
Some raider titles.  All are pretty good.
And finally a big range ruler.  It can shoot things for very far away.

Dreadball Crystallans

The crystallans are my favourite team from the last wave of stuff that came with my Dreadball Xtreme kickstarter.  Which means I have to paint them first.  I'm still not sure about the silver on them.  I might hit this with a wash later to darken them, but other than that I'm pretty happy with them.  This was also my first time painting translucent plastic, which I'm a big fan of (it looks fucking cool).

Crystallans are unusual compared to other teams because their starter team comes with 5 guards and 3 jacks.  Which basically means they wreck face.  These dudes hit hard.

The guards are pretty bulky, the jacks on the other hand... not so much

The Harvest part 7 Chaos Space Marine Lord

Ok, confession time.  I bought an Age of Sigmar model, and I feel really dirty.  However I turned him into chaos space marine, so it's ok.

See he's a chaos space marine now

I've decided to make him a chaos lord with an axe of Khorne, a powerfist (he's holding an axe in a crab claw), the Blood-forged Armour, and a sigil of corruption.  He's also got a collar of Khorne and an attack familiar represented by his flesh hound.  He rocks in at a hefty 235 points, a tad expensive but I prefer thematic characters.  Now he just needs a name.

Warhammer Quest; Daemon Summoning

When we last left our adventurers they had just accepted a quest to investigate some strange lights coming from a nearby abandoned manse.

Having traveled for most of the day our intrepid band of heroes arrived at the gates of Vretund Hall just as the sun was beginning to set.  The rumours of mysterious lights proved true.  The windows of the manse were glowing a baleful green.

"The winds of magic are flowing here like a river." Said Milia  "I believe someone is attempting to summon a daemon of immense power."

"Well we cannae let them dae that, eh lass." grunted Snorri "Right lads! We'd better stop these bastards before they can hurt onybody!"

Onwards to glory.

Our heroes come across the first batch of guards.  A horrifying horde of snotlings.  Guess what happens?  Yup, they get wiped out in one round.

Our heroes bust into the next room.  Unfortunately the floor was littered with scorpions.  So they start stamping on them.  The were so busy killing the scorpions that they didn't notice the goblins lining the room.  And they were none to please that a bunch of "do gooders" busted up their scorpion race.  The shaman called upon his god, Mork (or possibly Gork), for aid, thus creating a magical blast wave that knocked the party on its collective arse.
A few goblins met their end in retaliation.

The goblin shaman calls down the foot of Gork (or possibly Mork) and squashes Snorri into dwarf jam.  He is now drinking with his ancestors in Grimnir's Halls.

"HEY! GOBLIN SHAMAN!" *sound of an arrow loosing* "You just got elfed!"

And in the next room...
More goblins.  A whole four of them.  They didn't last long.

A few empty corridors later and we find the culprits.  A horde of loathsome Skaven.

A handful of stormvermin lead the verminous horde.
Our heroes carve their way through the Skaven.

After a long and bloody battle our heroes prove victorious, and disrupt the summoning ritual.  They would receive a hefty reward once the got back to town.  But first they would raise a mug of Bugman's to Snorri's memory.

Stilt Town Zombies Painted

I finished my Stilt Town Zombies warband for Super Dungeon Explore.  These were a lot of fun to paint.  Now on to the minis.

I believe you've already seen the swampies

And here is Survivor Marie-Claude.

Believe it or not she is actually a real person, google Marie-Claude Bourbonnais and you may well see her cosplaying her Super Dungeon Explore character.  Needless to say I tried to make Survivor Marie-Claue look like her real life costume.

Now for Mr Bitey

Shamble Priest

Pudges

Prowlers

And finally Gruesome George

And now for a little break from the cartoony stuff.  I've got me a brand new chaos lord for The Harvest and the Blood God demands that he be painted.
