Next batch done. This time it's a lot. I've concentrated on painting a few units that can only be taken by selecting other miniatures, as well as a few others.
Let's start with the infernal artillerymen.
Dark robes to differentiate them from all the other cloaks.
Hippolyta
Her face doesn't have the best detail. It's a bit flat.
The Hounds of Artemis
Circe's Wolves
Lycaon
Dragon of Thebes
The last of the big snakes. This one explodes into the Spartoi
Hermes
He's one of the more dynamic gods, and one of the most fun to paint.
In other hobby news my graveyard project over on Beasts of War for their terrain challenge is coming along. Also the next Empire event is in a few weeks, which I'm buzzing for.

Painting Mythic Battles Pantheon part 8
![]() |
Next Batch Done |
![]() |
Toxotoi. As per my cloak rule, they had to be a different colour from every other unit. So they got the dirty white ones. These guys were a real chore to paint. The had really hard to remove mould lines, and on top of that they were just really boring. |
![]() |
Arachnae. She was quite intimidating at first, mainly because her dress is made from web. But once I started, she wasn't that bad. |
![]() |
Aphrodite. She was actually quite difficult. Trying to get at her dress on her back was quite hard. As was painting the swords and hair without making an arse of the bits I'd already done. |
A little experiment today of trying to share photos from my phone straight into blogger. I'm sick of using image sharing sites.
So whats next for MBP? Well I've already painted a few characters that bring unique units to battle. So I'm going to paint those units. Also I'm also going to do the dragon of Thebes, since I've already painted the Spartoi. And Hermes... because why not?

Lexcorp
Wow! Okay, so my last blog was my most viewed ever. Thank you all the Empire folks who read it. I'll show off my loot soon, I promise. Anyhoo back to the usual stuff.
I've taken my first foray into Organized Crime for the Batman Miniatures Game. I went with one of the biggest criminals in the D.C Universe, Lex Luthor. Basically I wanted a more elite gang then my usual joker and Scarecrow swarms.
My lighting is a bit shit again, apologies.
Lexcorp Trooper 1
This dude is a face beater. His close combat master ability and reinforced gloves are going to hurt. I'd personally use him for hunting henchmen. With his medium armour and cybernetic traits mean they're unlikely to hurt him back. Just watch out for guns. For extra trolling give him a jetpack.
Lexcorp Trooper 2
This fellow has an energy sword. He is your can opener. He always damages on a 3+ and you need to make two successful block rolls to block his attacks. He's even got the follow me ability to give his buddies a little speed boost. I'd use him again for hunting henchmen, but I'd also try throwing him against sidekicks, free agents and leaders to get them burning through their defense points. Or combine him with trooper 1 and between them they should do a fair bit of damage.
Lexcorp Trooper 3
This one is the gunner. His gun is a beam weapon, unfortunately he can't pick up more ammo, however enemies will find it harder to make those ping rolls. It also gets round the bulletproof vest rule. He only has three shots (or four if you buy him a magazine) so use them wisely. The best thing about him is that his gun has the push rule. I'd buy him a jetpack and have him shoot enemies off buildings. You could also push targets into the open so you can shoot them with the next guy.
Lexcorp Heavy Trooper.
This is your murder machine. He's a bit squishy, only 6 endurance. But like the other troopers he has medium armour and cybernetic. Guns are his enemy, shoot them first. He's also worth an extra victory point to your opponent if they kill him. He's decent in melee, damages on a 3+ and has reinforced gloves for the double stun damage. He excels at shooting. He's got a four shot two blood gun that he can fire three times a game (four with a magazine). It's a beam, so no reloads for you, but is harder to hide from and shafts those bulletproof vests (screw you bane mercs). His gun is also assault 2, which means if he moves he gets to shoot twice instead of the usual once.
Alexander Joseph Luthor
I'm pleased that I managed to pull off a white suit (it's not actually white, shhhh don't tell anyone).
Lex is not a fighter, he's actually quite squishy. He dicks around with people with his plethora of rules. He is worth an extra victory point if removed as a casualty, but gains an extra special point to make up for it, and boy are you gonna need it. He can move enemies with goad. He can prevent enemies using special counters with intimidate, this shuts down the likes of Scarecrow and Poison Ivy. He can hire henchmen with the Cop trait, so that'd be more guns then. He has an energy field that gives him a 5+ save against ranged attacks. He cancels one of your opponent's strategies. He himself gains two extra strategy points. His kryptonite fucks over kryptonians (as it should do). He gains an extra take the lead counter from Mastermind. Friendly models with 8" get to reroll will power rolls. And finally he gets an additional $500 funding when configuring your crew.

Empire Summmer Solstice 382YE
I'm back from my first Empire and I had a blast. I have to admit I'm sore, tired, battered and bruised. At this event there were over 2000 friendly nutters (the best kind). I have to admit that it was a bit overwhelming, but then again it was my first time. Honestly I can't wait to go again in September.
Here's me just before time in of the Friday. I totally upped my kit game over the weekend. I bought myself a circlet, which had to benefits. It kept my hair out of my eyes and made me look a lot more noble. I'll have a ratch through the official photographer's websites over the next couple of days, I know I'm in a few of there pictures.
Hots
1. Being part of the most glorious nation in the Empire, Dawn. We're all a special kind of nuts.
2. The Empress joining the Earls Council on the Friday night. She came, gave some plot, we applauded, twas good. It was a really cool moment actually.
3. The three kids kicking the shit out of about half a dozen Dawnish knights in the Glory Square. That was hilarious.
4. The Dawnish Egregore. I didn't catch his name, but he was the man. He was keeping an eye on the camp, fixing loose guy ropes, hammering pegs and making sure everyone is okay. When we walked into the new player meeting he complemented our costumes for being a very high standard for newbies.
5. Accosting a YouTube personality. I bumped into Rickvanman in the out of character area. Thanked him for his videos, and asked him for a bit of advice. He's a very nice man, go check out his channel.
6. The food. The food is amazing. I'd go again just for the food. We went to Conspiracy Catering for a roast dinner two nights in a row. Best roast pork I've ever had. And the guys that run it are nuts. They even treated us to Shakespeare in a Brummie accent, which is amazing. We also got lunch from Spice of Africa. I saw a picture someone took of their bowl on facebook and thought "That looks good." I wasn't disappointed.
7. Water carrying. One of the rules of Empire is if you go to battle you must monster the other one. I can't wear an orc mask due to my glasses, so I joined the water carrier team. Our job was to keep the orcs hydrated. It's hot in those masks and they are very grateful.
8. The battle. This was a chaotic mess. But it was fun. I was invited to join a lance by one of the yeomen, and he tried to keep an eye on me during my first battle, good man that one. Even the orcs were good folks, three of them stopped attacking me when I fell a bit hard after suffering a strikedown, and they checked I was alright before wailing on me while I was on the ground. Then I got saved by an angry purple blur, who summoned a medic to revive my prostrate arse.
9. The tribute for Bessie the Bard. This was very entertaining, as well as being a bit emotional. I never met Bessie (she was murdered at E2), but I knew of her legacy. The performances were amazing. It was a really memorable event that I will remember fondly.
Nots
1. The weather. Friday was really hot and Anvil was a bit of a dust bowl. Saturday we had gale force winds and on Sunday it pissed it down. More importantly the weather killed our tent. However we're looking at getting a bell tent for next time. Then we can sleep in character.
2. Nervousness. Both of us were quite nervous. Since most of the folks in camp know each other we felt quite awkward inserting ourselves into conversations. However a few of the Dawnish folks on facebook have offered to give us a hand.
3. An armour malfunction. My left poleyn and cuisse slipped down over my greave locking my knee in place. I spent half the battle limping because my leg couldn't bend.
4. Wood chip. It's a necessary evil. It stops the pathways getting too muddy. But it doesn't half get in your shoes.
5. A mace to the eye. Totally not cool. The head is only a target of last resort. I was using a greatsword, I had plenty of target. How his blow went under my glasses and into my eye I don't know. I do know that shit rattles your brains, even if it is a foam latex weapon. So wandering about dazed for half the battle, not cool.
6. My knees. My knees are battered and bruised. I really need to up my armour game. My knee caps are bruised from bashing against my armour. The tendons in the back of my knees are sore from the straps. I really need some padding.
I think I might miss the battle out at E4, and try and up my armour game for next year. It'll give me time to get involved in more plot, build alliances and what not.

Workbench update
I'm not dead, don't worry. Empire is coming up, in just over a week. I've been mainly working on my kit. I've also been working on a few other projects. First is more Mythic Battles Pantheon stuff. Second is my first foray into the world of Organized Crime for Batman in the form of Lexcorp. Finally there's a whole pile of gravestones I've been working on. I'm doing some graveyard terrain.
Image for the image god.
Hopefully I can get some of these done now it's cooled down a bit. Our craft room is like an oven.

Kings of War Dwarfs #2
It's taken me a while, and the heat certainly hasn't helped, but I've finished two more regiments of dwarfs.
First up is a Clan Ironbeard shieldbreaker regiment. In the form of miners.
Next up I've got a regiment of Clan Goldforge Ironclad.
I've got a few projects on the go at the moment. I've got some more Mythic Battles stuff and a few dwarf characters on the painting block at the moment. I've also got a terrain project on the go.

The A-Team
In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... Barca and the Boys...
I've just finished Barca and the Boys by Studio Miniatures. I picked them up from them at the Albanich Wargames show back in March. This is their take on The A-Team.
John "Hannibal" Smith
Templeton Peck
B.A Baracus
H.M Murdock
Much like my Scooby gang I plan on using these with the Walking Dead. I've made there rules up already using the survivor builder rules in the Days gone Bye expansion. I might even pit both against each other.
