That's two thirds of the Poseidon expansion finished. I'm actually really enjoying this expansion, and I get to play with water effects.
Sirens
The water effects hadn't quite cured when I took the photos. I've tried to keep these in keeping with the concept art. The concept art is creepy. The face is just a mask, and the underside is a gaping maw with a lashing tongue. I decided to run with a green theme, to give the impression that these ladies are not quite right. I've done the face like a porcelain mask. I plan to revisit the bases like Poseidon and add some thicker water.
Periphetes
A bandit with a big club. I think he's cool, I'd use him as barbarian in D&D or a bandit chief.
Anteus
Big musclebound wrestler ready for his rematch with Heracles. He was quite fun to paint, and I managed to knock him out quite quickly.
Polyphemus
Big angry cyclops. He's got a bit of a squid like face, so I made him look pale and slightly purple. He's also carrying a big bronze anchor covered in verdigris. I think he looks very imposing and just awesome.
Charybdis
She was fun to paint and very different to the stuff I usually paint. I also learned how to paint white water, so that was a bonus. Giant whirlpool full of teeth. OMNOMOM!
Just one third of the box left, and that's Scylla. I hope you like tentacles.

Painting Mythic Battles Pantheon 17
This time we're diving into to Poseidon expansion. Although it should really be called the Scylla expansion because she takes up a third of the box. Whatever it should or should not be called it does have a few sea monsters in it, and sea monsters are cool.
Harpies
I like these. They've made them look like vultures. I've tried to carry the theme. What I really like is that these ladies don't have boobs. They're birds, birds don't have mammaries, because they're not mammals. It annoys me when bird people and lizard people have boobs, they're not mammals. Look at the Argonians from the Elder Scrolls, they hatch from eggs, they're reptiles, why do they have tits? Rant over.
Andromeda
I like this sculpt, except the face. It's lacking in definition. Other than that the sculpt is great.
Theseus
I'm not going to beat about the bush, he looks like a villain from Conan the Barbarian. Which is AWESOME! He'd make a fantastic barbarian for D&D. I think he has the largest sword of all the regular humans in the game.
Poseidon
How awesome is that sculpt? I think he might be my favourite divinity purely for his sculpt alone. Look at all those tentacles. I've tried to make him unnaturally pale, he spends all his time in the sea. I've added verdigris to his bronze parts, I feel that spending all his time at sea would enhance the oxidation of the bronze. I plan to revisit him to add a bit of pzazz to his base. He deserves it... just look at him. I'm going to follow this tutorial I just need to buy a few things first.
Once it stops raining I'm going to prime the next batch, which includes more monsters. I've also got some plague marines on the go, so expect to see those soon.

Painting Mythic Battles Pantheon 16
Well that's Pandora's box finished aside from the pillars. I need to learn how to paint marble first. If anyone knows how to paint white marble, please let me know.
Now onto the minis.
Lots of big dudes this time.
Let's start with Medea
She just looks evil, look at that malevolent grin. I've tried to make the spell in her left hand look as evil as possible, grey and smoky, drybrushed with various pinks to make it look more malevolent.
Tityos
He's big and made of rock. I've tried to keep him earthy, specially the roots holding him together. I might use him as an earth elemental in D&D too, he's one of the nicest I've seen.
Griffon
I love griffons. They're just so cool, and this is possible the best griffon miniature I've ever seen. Look at it, it's magnificent. I've tried to make it look as natural as I could, I could have done a GW and went to town with tiger stripes and whatnot, but decided against it. I find a more natural colour scheme on an unnatural beast makes it seem more real.
Apollo
I've gone for a green cloak on Apollo, mainly because I don't think I've done one yet. He's one of the better posed divinities. I've tried to keep him bright, with lots of gold.
Hecate
Hecate has three faces. Why not? She is the goddess of knowledge and magic. You will know more if you have 3 sets of eyes to perceive the universe. Going with the magic theme, I've tried to make her look as mystical as possible. I've gone with dark blue with contrasting silvers and off whites, even her hair is purple, contrasting with the silver of her crown. Her skin is pale with a blueish hue to it.
So that's Pandora's Box, minus the pillars. It was a long road, but I got there in the end. I think I might start the Poseidon expansion next, which is thankfully smaller.

Painting Mythic Battles Pantheon 15
That's another batch finished. Just five more and a few pillars to go. Then I can move onto the Poseidon expansion.
Hell hounds
We've seen these before in the main box. You get three in an alternate sculpt in Pandora's box to bulk your unit up to nine.
Orion
He's big, beefy and has a huge club. He's a hunter, so I've gone with neutral colours to emphasize this. With his white hair I think he looks a bit like a massive Geralt of Rivia.
Phoenix
Big fiery vulture. I now no longer like painting fire, this was a bit of a chore. There was no quick and easy to paint this thing, mostly fine detail work. I've tried to make the beak and feet look like smouldering coals.
