Collapsible Rocks

So what have I been working on for the past week.  That's right terrain. I watched a tutorial on Beasts of War on how to create collapsible rocks.  So one trip to Poundland later and i had everything I needed.

See they're squishy.  But can also take a fair bit of weight.  These rocks are made of car sponge glued to some foam board, which is then painted and flocked.  Best of all they're super cheap to make.  You can get 3 sponges for £1, all those rocks there were made from one pack of sponges.

Inquisitor's Tie Unboxing

I've never seen Star Wars Rebels so I can't really relate to knowing much about his Tie.  It is however very dinky and nippy, somewhat akin to the the A-Wing.  I've had this for over a month, this is me finally getting around to opening it.

Time to crack it open.

It's a nice looking wee ship.

Tokens and maneuver dials.
The pilot cards.
Effect cards
Upgrade cards

Both the named pilots in this set are pretty good.  The Inquisitor when firing his primary weapon at range 2-3 treats his range as 1, which means he always gets an extra attack dice and his opponent never gets the extra defense dice for being far away.  Valen Rudor gets to perform a free action after defending.  The more people that shoot at him the more he does.

Phoenix Lakeland Wargames Exhibition

Yesterday was the first annual Phoenix Lakeland Wargames Exhibition at the Rheged Centre in Penrith.  This is Cumbria's first wargames show, and in my opinion it was a great success.  There were many traders at the event including the mighty Warlord games as well as more local ones like my very own plastic dealer Hadrian's Hobbies. There were also several tournaments on during the day, including Magic the Gathering and the Batman Miniatures Game, guess which one I was playing in?

The Batman tournament was great.  A lot of underrated crews were represented, like the Wonderland Gang and Organized Crime.  The guys were all fantastic sports and a joy to play against.  I came sixth out of eight over all, with one loss, one draw and one win, and most importantly had a cracking time.

Set up begins for game one.

Tanks - Stug G unboxing

Here's the second tank I bought along with the main game, the Stug G.  These aren't very effective in game, however they only cost 15 points, so you can field a few of them.  Lets see what you get in the box.

The box art looks awesome.

Again you get the instructions on the back of the box insert.  I forgot to take a picture of the sprue, it only makes one type of tank, but you get to slightly different hull options and about 4 different guns, so no two Stugs in your force need look the same.

You only get one tank card in the box, because you only get the one variant in the kit.  The Stug has low initiative, average firepower, low defense and hit points at the lower end.  But they're really cheap.
You get five upgrades in the set.
