Clowns of Anarchy

I said Borgon is next and here he is.

Borgon is a biker clown.  Just look at the way he's dressed.  He's also in my mind an old dude that's stung out on meth.

Borgon is one of the clowns I always take.  He's big, tough and hits really hard (when I don't roll a tonne of 1's for damage).  His demented laugh is great for lowering the defense of an enemy (take that Batman).  In the last game I played with him he pulped Alfred.  His sturdy rule makes him that little bit harder to slow down.  He has the brutal rule making that critical hit that little bit easier to obtain.  By in large Borgon does me proud (except when I'm having a case of the 1's).

Who's next in my rogues gallery?  I'm thinking Solomon Grundy.

A funny kind of stick up

I've been playing quite a bit of the Batman Miniatures game lately, and in my games I always use two specific clowns; Borgon and Triston.  Both of which usually do me proud, but neither of them are painted.  Time to remedy that.

Here's Triston

He oddly has quite a thin head.

Since all the rest of my Joker's goons thus far have been white I decided it was time for some ethnic diversity.  Triston is sporting some Blackgate prison issue trousers, a dirty vest, hiking boots and a clown mask.  He is also carrying his trusty shotgun.

When I use Triston I usually play him highly aggressively, yet cautiously.  He usually runs up the field behind my shield clown, for protection.  Once the enemy are in range I move him around trying to get the best line of fire.  The shotgun is pretty nasty when it hits. I'm also not opposed to getting him close to the enemy.  His dirty fighter rule allows him to shoot at point blank range.

Up next time, Borgon.

Dreadball Ada-Lorana

I've just finished another team, not that they took much work mind you.  The Ada-Lorana are beings that can turn themselves completely insubstantial, hence why they're made from translucent blue plastic.  For these guys I gave them a blue wash.  When that was dry I drybrushed the flames with a light blue, which I then highlighted with an off-white.  That's it they didn't take long at all.

The guards

The Jacks, the middle one is actually a striker.

The other strikers

And finally the injured dudes

Dreadball MVP's Brute Force and Brickbat Vognar

I've now got three painted teams for Dreadball, so I thought it would be a good idea to paint up a couple of MVPs.  I couldn't decide which ones to do.  However I came up with a fair impartial solution.  I grabbed my bag of MVP's, tipped them out, arranged them into a heap and grabbed the first two of the top.  I ended up with Brute Force and Brickbat Vognar.

Lets look at Brute Force first

Her exo-suit screams "power loader" to me, so I painted it like a power loader.  I feel like she has a loss of detail on her face, which is a shame as the rest of the miniature is so detailed.

Now Brickbat

He's a big pissed off convict orc.

Both of these are guards.  They'll probably see more use with my Martians or Hobgoblins, the Crystallans have enough guards as it is.  The Martians could use them more, they're a bit squishy and could do with the muscle.

Imperial Raider Unboxing

This beast came through the door yesterday, I thought it was time for an unboxing.

This thing his huge.  Just look at the size of it compared to the tie-advanced next to it.  Let's get it out the box.

So we get an imperial raider and an alternative coloured tie-advanced (it's blue rather than grey).

Some tokens and base inserts.  I popped the big one out to assemble the raider's base.

More tokens and stuff.

The tie-advanced cards.  There's some good ones in this set.
The raider's stat cards.
The ion token card. How many of these do I own now?
The raider's damage cards.  You get a good stack of them.
Some tie-advanced upgrades.  Combine the two and they become nasty as all hell.
Some missiles.
Some new co-pilots.  Most of them are raider only.  They include Emperor Palpatine and Vanhelsing.
Some weapon upgrades for the raider.  Including more ion cannon batteries than it has weapon upgrade slots.
Some upgrades for the raider.
Some crew cards.
Some raider titles.  All are pretty good.
And finally a big range ruler.  It can shoot things for very far away.
