X-Wing Miniatures Game Force Awakens Starter Set Unboxing

I was up at comicon in Glasgow yesterday and picked this up.

The contents vary slightly from the original starter set, the price is the same.

You get three rule books instead of one.  The learn to play book, aka the rule book.  The mission guide book, its got 3 missions to help you to get to grips with the game.  And finally the rules reference book.  You need to know a rule, they're in there, in alphabetically order.

A wad of token sheets.

A few variations from the original box, some tokens are different, others are new, and the asteroids are different shapes.

The T-70 X-wing.  I think it looks pretty awesome.  It's a slight redesign of the original, it's not just a new colour scheme.

A comparison to the original.  The T-70 is a little bulkier, its got more streamlined engines too.  It's not just a simple repaint.

TIE/FO Fighter, or the First Order fighter.  This isn't just a repaint either.  You get two of them.

It's a similar size, but the FO fighter is a little bulkier next to the original, especially around the arms.

The T-70 X-wing stat cards.  Again these are a little bit more advanced than the original.

 The FO fighter named pilots.

The basic FO fighter pilots.  You get 2 of each of these.

The bog standard x wing dice.

New upgrade cards including BB-8.

A new damage deck.  I've no idea if it's any different from the original.

And finally the range ruler, for getting your shooting on.

The Harvest part 8; Lord in Terminator Armour

I know I said I might paint Harley Quinn next, but this guy has been sitting, undercoated, on my desk for weeks, staring at me... seriously it was starting to creep me out.

He's what I call my cheap lord.  Terminator armour, lightning claws and a sigil of corruption.  He doesn't need much else.  He's not a straight out of the box model.  The base of him is the standard plastic chaos space marine lord, his head on the other hand is the spare one that comes with Forge World's Lord Zhufor.  I've done him in the standard Harvest colours, with a bit more brass thrown in.  He's allowed a bit of bling, he's in charge after all.

What to paint next? I do have a half painted defiler sitting over there.  That'll do.

BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

The Other Two Harley Thugs

I finished the last of my Harley thugs, thus my Joker tournament list is complete... sort of.  I need to fix a few of the chips in the older clowns.  But enough about them this is about Harley's thugs.

You get these two, along with Worker (he was in the previous post) along with Harley Quinn (I might paint her next).  I've found these two to be a bit more useful than Worker, but I'll get to that in a minute.

First up is Harley thug number 2 (yeah that's how I roll) aka Bragg

As you can see Bragg has a sawn-off shotgun.  Admittedly he's a one trick pony.  Run up the board fire his shotgun and run off in search of an ammo crate, then repeat.  His sawn-off use the expansive template, so it doesn't roll to hit, and hit's multiple enemies.  If you can get them in that sweet spot on the template, cause them some serious hurt.

And finally Harley thug number 1, aka Punker

As you can see Punker is a punk clown with a chainsaw.  He's also a one trick pony.  He runs at the enemy and cuts them into tiny pieces.  That chainsaw is absolutely brutal.  It always damages on a roll of 3 or better and inflicts 3 lethal damage when it does.  He's also got an attack value of 3, so he can potentially  churn out 9 lethal damage a turn.  He hits well above his weight.  To put it in perspective, he can potentially take out Batman, I mean his odds are slim, but it's still within the realms of possibility.

Harley Thug no 3 Worker

I've finished another clown for my tournament list.  Joker's crew is becoming an army.

This somewhat pudgy gentleman is Harley thug no 3, also know as worker.  But I like to call him "Jack Hammer", mainly because he's carrying one.  He comes in the Harley Quinn Arkham Knight Crew set.  He like the the rest of that set has affiliation to Joker, hence why he's been conscripted into tournament list.  Game wise he's quite unremarkable other than he hits quite hard with that jackhammer of his.  He is quite cheap however, and cheap bodies are always useful.
